We had not heard much about a redesign of Microsoft’s Windows software since then, but that changed this morning as the company’s head of Microsoft Office Design, Jon Friedman, took to Medium to detail a host of aesthetic changes. In 2017 Microsoft revealed its Fluent Design system, which was an aesthetic and UI that the company had been working on for some time in order to take the look and feel of the firm’s Windows software in a more modern direction.
